Description
ASTM A312 TP 321/321H SCH 80 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes

Seamless Pipes 1.4541 DIN 17440 & ASME SA 312 TP 321 Welded Pipe manufacturer in China

Also referred to as by its trade name UNS S32100, stainless steel grade ASTM A312 Tp321 is a titanium stabilized alloy. The SS 321 Welded Pipe produced under specification ASTM A312 has been designed to resist intergranular corrosion, especially in high temperature settings. At a temperature between 800 to 1500°F, the more conventionally used austenitic stainless steel grades are susceptible to chromium carbide precipitation, unlike the ASTM A312 Gr.Tp321 which has higher creep strength as well as stress rupture properties. In addition, the 321 Stainless Steel Pipe has good toughness properties even at lower temperatures.

Supplier and exporter of AISI 321 ERW Pipe in China, 321 SS Pipe, Grade 321 UNS S32100 Stainless Steel Pipe in China

The SS 321 Erw Pipe is one of those alloys which cannot be hardened by heat treatment. However, since the alloy is cold worked, these pipes tend to have a much better surface finish along with superior dimensional control. As the alloy is ductile, the A312 Tp 321 can be easily formed into pipes. Moreover, the SA312 Tp321, like most austenitic stainless steel pipes can be easily welded by the conventionally used welding and fabrication techniques. Tests such as transverse or longitudinal tension test, flattening test in tandem with Grain size determination and weld decay tests are to be performed on the ASTM A312 Tp 321.

Types of heat treatment methods for 321 stainless steel pipe

Annealing is available as a means of treating this material for extra corrosion resistance. Annealing is performed by heating up the material up to 1065 degrees Celsius and then water quenching it. This provides maximum corrosion resistance to the products made up this material. In addition to the annealing procedure, the hot bending operation could be performed in the range of 950 -1100 degrees Celsius.

This is not actually a heat treatment to increase any mechanical properties but soon after the hot bending, annealing is performed to make sure that the corrosion resistance properties are restored. The annealing also provides the material with less intergranular corrosion during welding. An oxide layer forms on the surface of the AISI 321 pipe after annealing which acts as a coating against oxidation reactions. Some types of finishing are also available to protect the surface in addition to the heat treatment.

ASTM A312 TP321
TP321H Seamless Stainless Steel Pipes, the grade 321 stainless steel pipe is austenitic steel that is stabilized with titanium. The titanium stabilization provides the material with good corrosion resistance.
