ASTM A312 304 / 304L stainless steel pipes are used to transport pressure vessels, industrial transportation, and other requirements. The most critical points are these:

  1. Requirements for steel pipe material: Since transporting objects will cause a certain impact on the pipe wall, there are certain requirements for pressure resistance; the compressive strength of 304 stainless steel pipe is as high as 515Mpa or more, and has good pressure resistance.

  2. Surface finish of the steel pipe: The inner and outer surfaces of the stainless steel pipe are polished to make the surface of the pipe fittings shiny; which is what we often call a mirror surface. The main purpose is to prevent the fluid material in the tube from forming a wall in the tube, which will easily cause contamination and blockage in the tube over time. Gangzheng masters the core technology of the polishing process, and the surface roughness of pipe fittings can reach 0.008μm.

  3. Passivation layer of steel pipe: After polishing, the steel pipe needs to be soaked in a passivation pool, and the surface of the steel pipe is oxidized with an acidic passivation solution to form a passivation layer so that the stainless steel pipe can achieve the anti-corrosion effect. Gangzheng has professional chemical reagent mixers who monitor each process in real-time to ensure that the pipe fittings can be thoroughly pickled and passivated without damaging the workpiece.

  4. Oil-free degree of steel pipe: After passivation is completed, oil-free cleaning is performed to remove oil stains on the surface of the steel pipe. After completion, it needs to be inspected with a grease analyzer. The main purpose is to prevent the oil on the pipe wall itself from contaminating the fluid material in the pipe.

304L stainless steel pipe is a more common type of stainless steel materials, many of the processing plant, 304L stainless steel pipe may occur in the process of machining line crack, scarring, surface defects such as inclusions, and scarring, these defects is roughly due to slab outer arc Angle of subcutaneous appeared transverse crack, there are tiny impurities mixed with in the crystallizer, finishing clean up without oxidation residue on the surface of the stainless steel pipe, as well as in the rolling process due to slab edges to the stainless steel pipe surface caused by the cartwheel.

The hardness expression method of API 5L seamless steel pipe has Brinell hardness (HB), Rockwell hardness (HRC), Vickers hardness (HV), Leeb hardness (HL) are four different hardness testing methods, each of which has its own unique testing principle, application range and characteristics. The following are the detailed differences between the four hardness testing methods:

ASTM A53 Black steel pipes While it is used mainly for gas lines, it is also used to connect appliances to their supply lines. In drain lines, heating piping, and natural gas piping, black pipe is used. It can even be used instead of galvanized pipe in projects other than carrying water for drinking.
